More of Kit 508 Freebies

Holy Scrap is it cold here...barely 50 and raining. And the boys are on Lake Michigan fishing. No doubt they are colder than me! Not gonna' do much of anything today...1 load of laundry to put in the dryer and I'm not sure I'll even get out of my jammies:) Don't even have to think about dinner 'cause I planned that out last nite and took the steaks out of the freezer and into the marinade they go around 2. The grands are up at camp so I know it'll stay real quiet around here.

Here's your Kit 508 goodies for today along with 2 previews...are these colors hot or what! I love 'em:)

Here are the links...make sure to snag them both...here and here. I'll get some papers posted soon and I have more alphas too:)

Big hugs and if you want to share, please send people here to my blog to download for themselves. Thanks folks...Mollie

Late breaking news: I've also uploaded these files to 4 shared and they can be found here: green alpha, zip 01, and zip 02. Pick your poison:)

Mindless and freebie alpha

How's your weekend going folks? I hope you're having nice weather as it's kinda cool here and of course it's gonna' rain on Monday. But I shouldn't complain as this is nicer than most other Memorial Day weekends...it usually freezes! I am so beyond ready for some HOT weather!

I've been having a really rough patch this month...killer fibro flare. Had my yearly exam at the Dr. and I told her point blank that I was 'drug seeking"...lol.
I told my tale of woe and she had me try a new (to me) medicine called Neurontin. She said it originally was for seizure patients but they are now having good success with it as a fibro pain medication. Hey...if I can take a pill to make me feel better...give it to me baby! The sooner the better is my attitude! As she was finishing explaining how the drug worked, I got pretty excited! Filled that prescription on the way home and took the first one that evening as I was getting ready for bed. Man, I slept like a dead woman! Best sleep I'd had in weeks and I was a happy camper. Took the 2nd pill with my morning coffee and breakfast and got pretty tired by the time it rolled around to take the next one. Took that one around 2 p.m. and had to keep closing my mouth as it was hanging open, slack jawed. I crashed around 6. I knew this med would make me sleepy but because I hadn't slept good in about 4 weeks, I wasn't concerned. Got up at 9, watched some TV, played on the puter a bit and hit the rack for the night around 1 a.m. after taking my 3rd neurontin for the day.

Day 2 was pretty much the same and by days end, I wasn't much worse for the wear.
Day 3 was more of the same but I didn't have those consistent stabbing pains in the forefront of my mind...the ones that nag me to distraction all day. Still fighting the sleepiness during the day but I was determined to keep taking my 3 doses daily.
If I could lessen the pain that much in only 3 days, I was excited as to how things would progress as I kept taking it.
Day 4 (Thursday) found me a little bit pissy but I'm a woman in menopause, I wasn't too concerned. Mid-afternoon I realized that I was sitting at the computer and a certain amount of time had passed. I was slack-jawed again and staring at the computer screen. Hmmmm...I looked down to see if I had been drooling...roflmao! I really did look to see and just the act of doing that made me laugh at myself! Hmmmm...
Day 5...same shit only worse. After my a.m. dose, I struggled to go out into the garage and tell my dh that I had a head f*%k the size of Texas. I remember thinking that I really needed to tell him this and really concentrating to get out there and that it was important. I told him to check up on me as this was really bad. Don't remember going back into the house but at one point in the afternoon I was sitting at my desk and realized the phone was ringing. All I could do was look at it and listen to it ring. But something was very wrong...it was ringing but nothing was happening. On the 5th ring, I realized it was my cell phone and not the house phone. It was all very dreamlike and it wasn't bothering me and it was bothering me that it wasn't bothering me...are you following this???? Sheesh!
Then I remember dinner time and we were having cherry pancakes. I had eaten around 4 'cause I was so very hungry. Bruce came in around 5:30 to eat and I started making his pancakes and when I flipped the first one over it didn't flip all the way and I was so suddenly filled with rage and disappointment I could have wept. He knew I was pissed and said something to the effect of...that's OK...it'll still be fine...and I wanted to kill him on the spot with my pancake turner. If the damned thing hadn't have been plastic, I probably could have gotten off a few good whacks before the handle broke:)
OK...got the pancakes cooked, filled with cherries and rolled up beautifully! And get this...I remember saying to him that I was getting concerned about this medication and that he needed to make sure and tell me if I was getting pissy! Ain't that a freakin' hoot! The poor man would probably be dead before he got the words out...lol.
Day 6...more slack-jawed, more lost unaccounted for time and lots of finding myself staring into space...can you spell z o m b i e? I remember getting really pissed off suddenly again but can't remember why and it finally dawned on me that I should stop taking that medicine. And I did! It took me 3 days to get that crap out of my system and feel back to myself. What a lost week that was:(
Man, that was one insidious drug for me. I'm bummed in one way 'cause it affected me so badly but I sure hope it helps someone with fibro. I'm actually glad to be feeling some of the pain...makes me feel alive!

Here is your well-deserved freebie if you've made it this far. It's an alpha from a new kit I'm almost finished with and I've called it "Kit 508". How's that for originality? I've stopped naming them...it's the absolute worse part.

As usual, drop shadows are for preview purposes only and you can find it here.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend and I'll be back soon with more:)

Big hugs all around...Mollie

Thanks so much for the lovely comments...I do appreciate them and am glad you're liking this kit:)

Now I'm off to take a very late shower and then to install an internet connection for my dh's computer in the garage. I've never done a wireless connection before so wish me luck. Have a great day...what's left of it anyway:)

SR Freebie Day 2

Hope you like what you've gotten so far and are ready for more:) Here we go...

Papers: 6 - 7 - 8 - 9 - 10
Alpha
Elements 4 - 5 - 6
QP
Again, please don't share the MediaFire links...just send folks the link to my blog so they can download directly from the source...thanks so much:)

And now I'm wondering how many of you have been turned on to Google Reader. If you don't know about it, check it out here: http://www.google.com/reader and make your life easier. I currently keep track of about 140 scrap blogs alone and it's the first thing I do in the a.m. I open my browser to Reader and am presented with all of the scrap folks that have posted something new on their blog during the time I last looked. All new entries are highlighted so you just jump to each one and read/snag away.

The hardest part is when you first start entering all of the sites you want to keep track of...you have to manually go to each site, copy the site addy, then go into Reader and paste the addy into their convenient "Add Subscription" box and there you are. All your favorite sites on 1 page...ya' gotta' love that! You can even move them to different folders. I have folders for 'Blog Freebie Lists' like http://digifree.blogspot.com/, a folder for strictly 'Scrap Blogs' and even a folder for my 'Favorite Designers'. And that's only the Scrap stuff!
I love not having to travel all over the place and try to keep up on the latest and greatest...Google Reader gives it all to me. Give it a shot...and no, I don't work there...lol. I just freaking love it and keep my browser open to my Google Reader page all day:)
Have a terrific Tuesday and I'll see ya' in the a.m.
Hugs...Mollie

Spring Reunion Mega Freebie

Gonna' get right down to business and we'll chit-chat later in the post. I kinda got carried away with this one but I know you won't mind. The name Spring Reunion is mainly based upon the colors I used for the kit and I think you'll find it very versatile for lots of scrapping occasions.

This megakit has 46 papers, over 150 elements, 5 coordinating alphas and I actually tried my hand at making QPs:) I'm not very good at making them but I figured you could add some goodies from the kit to make them even more special.

Warning: There are over 50 zip files to this kit and that is mainly because I kept them on the small side for my dial-up friends. They average around 10 MB each but those of you on higher speeds shouldn't be too annoyed as it'll go really fast for you:) The QP zips are about double that size but there's nothing I can do about that!

I didn't make a preview of the entire kit 'cause there's simply too much to show so you'll have to settle for individual ones. I do have a zip of the previews for you to download so you don't have to snag them from here. I'll be sharing 10+/- zips a day for the next 5 days and that will lead us right up to all the fun, fabulous stuff starting Friday for National Scrapbooking Day on Saturday...I can't hardly wait!

Here's the first 3 of 15 previews, in no particular order...click on the pics of each to get a larger view:)

Here are the links for today...they open in a new window/tab so you aren't farting around with the back button:)

All Previews
Papers: 1 - 2 - 3 - 4 - 5
Alpha
Elements: 1 - 2 - 3
QP

Please don't send these links around...just send the link to my blog and let people download from here...it's much appreciated. Hope you enjoy the kit!

Chit-Chat of no consequence...lol. My vacation was simply marvelous! Vegas freaked my freak big time! Went to see the Cirque show KA at the MGM Grand and it was quite an experience...I think my mouth was hanging open the entire time! Simply not to be missed. We toured several facilities during our stay with the Bellagio being my favorite inside and out. I could have spent days and days watching those fountains and listening to the music. We dined al fresco at the Paris and when the fountain show started across the street, it was like seeing our dessert instead of eating it.

My stay at the Monte Carlo was very disappointing and I would never recommend it to anyone, nor will I stay there again. When I complained to management about how dirty the room was and the fact that we had to call for towels and washcloths every single day, his reply was to mumble something about the fact that they just had a fire a few weeks ago and each room had been inspected by county officials and was OK'd. Pretty pitiful in my book but I must say all of the staff we ran into in our 5 day stay were just the friendliest folks:)

My personal favorite was being downtown and having the Fremont Street Experience. OMG, I can't even begin to tell you how much fun we had down there. It's so homey and friendly and there is the coolest stuff to see! So many people just milling around and talking to each other and one gal had a drink in a cool glass and I wanted one. So she pointed us in the right direction and we found ourselves at this itty bitty casino where in the back they were serving up the yummiest frozen concoctions you've ever seen in the largest containers you've ever seen. Well, we were in Vegas and had our big girl panties on so the 3 of us gals (sisters) decided to go for broke and get the extra-large size. I chose Mud Slide, I think Debbie had the Pina Colada and I can't remember exactly what Kim chose but it was yummy. During pouring, one of the gals asked us if we wanted extra alcohol and we all said "hell, no" at the same time...lol. But looking back on this, I think she did it anyway...at least to my drink! The rest of this story is hazy but I remember lots and lots of hysterical laughing, Debbie getting brain freeze from drinking too fast and my arms getting tired from carrying around this 1 gallon container filled with Mud Slide and wondering why it wasn't going down much although I was drinking it like mad 'cause it was so, so delicious.

I was past the point of no return when I remembered that Binions was supposed to have the best burgers and dogs around and man, were they ever. First meal we had all week that was under $35.00...and actually, it was under $5.00 and oh, so good. The cooks were saints as they put up with our rowdiness!

The ride back to the strip was just a hoot but I sure felt sorry for my bil Bob...thank goodness he didn't drink but he must have had it 'up to here' with us girls yakking and yucking it up like crazy. The rest of the night can't be told but apparently I was a bad girl...what happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas...roflol. Everyone else got up at the buttcrack of dawn the next day and I still can't believe they weren't all sick! I just had a kink in my neck and a terrible headache...kink from watching the fantastic light shows downtown. But I got up around 1 and was feeling right as rain. Surprising 'cause I haven't gotten drunk in over 12 years and I'm not supposed to drink because of the meds I'm on so that drunk will last me into my 70's...lol.

OK...enough of this chic-chat. This post will end up being an entire page long...so enjoy the freebies and see ya' tomorrow with more.

Big hugs and hope you're all doing well!

Mollie

My Loves Final

Finally, the last links to this kit can be found here: Link 17, Link 18, Link 19 and Link 20.

Thanks so much for sharing this week with me. All your kind comments and helpful tips about Vegas were a delight to read and I had a great time following all your links:)

Yesterday sped by quickly as I took the twins to see a movie (Vantage Point...don't miss it!) in the afternoon and then we went to dinner and had chinese...yum!

It was the best feeling being able to print my boarding passes this a.m. and that's the first thing I did...lol. Then dh and I made sure all the bills were paid and I explained to him for the hundredth time that some of them were set up to be paid online automatically on their due date. He's not big on technology poor guy...doesn't trust it yet. I'll give him a couple more years to get used to it...roflol:) Now I'm going to make him a big batch of white rice and his favorite jello dish...that will keep him alive for a few days. I'm gonna' worry about him eating and taking his pills while I'm gone but I'll just keep telling myself that he's a big boy now!

I promised a sneak peek at what's in the works for my next kit and I did get a whole bunch of papers finished this week and here's a preview of some of them. I'm calling it Spring Reunion as it's such a welcome relief to see the colors of spring right around the corner...and I know it's there under our 6 feet of snow:)

You can click on the pic for a look at a larger view. Although you can't see it in the preview, these papers have the yummiest textures and you'll be feeling up your screens to try and touch them:)

Wish I could bring PSP and PS with me to work on this kit while I'm gone but it's not to be.
I'll see you all when I get back during the 3rd week of March.
Until then...be safe, be happy, and keep scrappin'!
Big hugs...Mollie
